The factory-correct style rotor spindle nut dust covers that go on the front rotors are the 2-piece units designed for all factory rotors with a 1 3/4" hole. These covers were used on the drum brake hub from 1964-1972 A-body, 1967-1969 F-body, and 1968-1974 X-body models. In fact, they were utilized on all mid-size GM cars produced from 1964 through 1979.
The factory-correct design features a distinctive bump-out to provide clearance for the end of the spindle. This is in contrast to the replacement cover still offered by GM, which is a generic design that was never used on the original factory cars and does not match the appearance of the original.
These dust covers inevitably become dented and worn after being removed for the first time. The Inline Tube reproductions, however, are an exact match to the original NOS parts, replicating the correct size, shape, thickness of metal, and silver zinc finish.
For a truly accurate restoration, these factory-correct dust covers are an absolute necessity for all vehicles equipped with 1 3/4" rotor hubs. Plated in silver zinc, they provide the appropriate aesthetic and protective function as intended by the original manufacturer.
